Here's what we did in previous months...
October, 2008
It was a very special evening at the Old City art galleries via a fun "scavanger hunt" that uses your cell phone number. Thanks to technology from Drexel grads who started SCVNGR, we split into teams of 6 to 10 people each (we mixed up the internationals with Philadelphians), and got clues as to where to go via our cell phones. All 75 received a "Philadelphia" gift, and the winning team got to enjoy Patou's wonderful ambiance and cuisine with $200 off their food & drink there.

In March, IVC's International First Fridays featured the spectacular, world-renown Philadelphia Flower Show, the world's largest indoor flower show first held in 1829! We also enjoyed complimentary coffees and sweets at Starbuck's Café and watched the Saint Patrick's Day Parade!

Everyone enjoyed Tango Buenos Aires Latin Dance & Music Performance at the beautiful Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, October 21st.

Philadelphia's young professionals and IVC supporters and guests joined us in welcoming the new international graduate & professional students at Temple’s Law & Business Schools, La Salle University, Philadelphia University, Penn Nursing School & the University of the Arts.
These young attorneys, business leaders, medical professionals and artists from around the world are studying in Philadelphia for the next academic year.
Everyone enjoyed a 150-minute Center City tour on double decker buses, which for many new international students meant exploring the City for the very first time!
December, 2006
International graduate and professional students joined IVC young professionals at the Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. The 76ers lost, but everyone had a great time, especially since each person received a 76ers hat and equipment bag!
November, 2006
International graduate students joined young professionals from Philadelphia for a JAZZ CONCERT with six-time Grammy nominee, Nnena Freelon, who performed with a jazz combo of piano, bass, drums and percussion.

Everyone enjoyed a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of Philadelphia's Old City Art Galleries
The distinctive art galleries of Philadelphia's Old City are open late on the First Friday of each month for a unique cultural event and one of the City's most popular evening outings! Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of three distinctive galleries. We met artists and gallery owners, and experienced contemporary paintings, fiber sculpture, custom designed furniture, glass, ceramics and much more!

Everyone enjoyed Center City tour on double decker buses followed by a reception at Patou, the hip Old City Restaurant at 312 Market Street with complimentary hors d'oeuvres & cash bar at Patou.

This was part of the 9th Annual Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival, (sponsored by the Japan America Society).
The evening began with a one-hour dance lesson of tango, cha cha, foxtrot and swing!
Attendees joined international graduate students, IVC and Compass, (IVC's young professionals) for this fun event!
